The Apache-class Escort is a small variant of the Nova-class Dreadnaught.

This small ship is meant to escort upgraded Novas, Shinano-class Carriers, and Ustinov-class Dreadnaughts. To this end, it is fairly heavily armed for its size, but is more than capable of operating by itself as a scout ship. Four Omega-style 52mm plasma pulse cannons, two on the sides of the front and two on a turret on top of the front, provide main firepower. Eight 40mm pulse cannons defend the ship. Unlike the Omega, it has no particle beam cannons.
When it was originally made, it lacked simulated or artificial gravity. It was phased out of service in its infancy, being replaced by the Olympus-class Corvette. Ckasaron managed to aquire one of the few ships that wasn't scuttled or used as target practice for newer designs. Except for adding Warlock-based hybrid gravitic engines, he left the ship virtually the same. These engines gave artificial gravity. Unlike its successor, this ship was jump-capable.
